For seamless operation, nylon side stripping is securely attached to the curtain edges, while a substantial bottom bar — comprising a continuous 2”x1-1/2”x12 gauge galvanized steel angle — reinforces the curtain, fastened to an aluminum retainer featuring a bulb astragal. The sophisticated spring counterbalance system incorporates a 26 gauge, 9 1/2″ diameter galvanized steel spiral torque tube and 20 gauge galvanized steel drums, designed to limit deflection to 0.03 inches per foot of door width. Helical torsion type, oil-tempered wire springs, mounted on a minimum 14 gauge, 1″ (25.4mm) galvanized steel tubing, are engineered for 12,500 life cycles with a 25% overload factor. Operation is efficiently managed via a rope pull for units up to 10’0” Wide x 10’0” High; otherwise, a reduction gear chain hoist is provided as standard. Structural integrity is ensured by 3/16” (4.76mm) thick structural steel angle support brackets and 14 gauge galvanized steel roll-formed channel guides, measuring 2 ¼” deep per side. For security, dual galvanized steel slide bolt locks are attached to the bottom bar, suitable for user-provided padlocks.
